Professor Narayan C. Debnath, D.Sc., Ph.D. is an internationally recognised computer scientist and higher education leader. He is the Founding Dean of the School of Computing & Information Technology and Head of Software Engineering at Eastern International University, Vietnam, and has served as Director of the International Society for Computers and Their Applications (ISCA), USA, since 2014.
Before moving to Vietnam, Dr Debnath spent 28 years at Winona State University (USA), including seven years as Department Chair, and previously held positions at several U.S. universities over a 40 year academic career.
A dual doctorate holder (Computer Science — D.Sc.; Physics — Ph.D.), he has published 35+ books, 40+ book chapters, and over 500 refereed papers across software engineering, AI/ML, testing, and information systems. His scholarship is complemented by 60+ invited keynotes worldwide and sustained editorial work for leading journals and Springer/Elsevier titles.
Dr Debnath’s current interests span artificial intelligence applications, IoT security, blockchain for data privacy, and innovative computing curricula. He champions global collaboration, having forged numerous international MOUs, founded an AI research lab and a cybersecurity centre at EIU, and guided diverse student bodies toward research excellence and industry placements.
