The Research and Innovation Center for Nepal (RICON) is a multidisciplinary organization committed to promoting research, innovation, and technology-driven solutions in Nepal. RICON fosters collaboration between academia, industry, and policymakers to drive scientific advancements, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. Through its initiatives, the center supports cutting-edge research, capacity-building programs, and policy advocacy, contributing to Nepal’s technological growth and global competitiveness.
Nepal Engineering College (NEC) is a renowned academic institute established in 1994 with the aim of providing quality technical education to Nepalese students. It was founded by a group of visionary professionals and academicians who recognized the need for an institution that could contribute to the country's economic growth through engineering and technology education. NEC is a not-for-profit social institute registered with the District Administration Office in Bhaktapur.
NEC has now grown into an institution with its learning resources comparable to any institution of repute in the country and in the region. Currently, NEC offers Bachelor level courses in Civil Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil and Rural Engineering, and Civil Engineering for Diploma Holders leading to B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) degree, Bachelor level course in Architecture leading to B.Arch (Bachelor of Architecture) degree, and Postgraduate courses leading to Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Construction Management (CM), Natural Resources Management (NRM), Interdisciplinary Water Resources Management (IWRM), and Transportation Engineering and Management (TEAM). All the programs in NEC are affiliated under Pokhara University.
To date, the institutional linkages of NEC extend to: EU + ERASMUS (European Union), AUSSIE Action Abroad (Australia), Ball State University (USA), Ehime University (Japan), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE, India), South Asian Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs, Hyderabad, India), MVA Asia Ltd. (Hong Kong), Tarleton State University (Texas, USA), Erasmus Project (Europe), Tongji University (Shanghai, China), and North China Electric Power University (Beijing, China).
