Prof. Xuping Zhang

Professor Xuping Zhang received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Southeast University, China in 1995. She was a Research Fellow in University of Texas at Austin from 2000 to 2002. Zhang worked in ETH-Zurich as a visiting professor in 1999. She is the director of the Key Laboratory of Intelligent Optical Sensing and Manipulation, Ministry of Education of China and the Dean of Institute of Optical Communication Engineering and Optical Fiber Sensing of Nanjing University since 2002. So far, she has authored or co-authored more than 300 articles and 200 patens. Now her research interests focus on distributed optical fiber sensing and its applications on structure health-monitoring.
